About

Every great stitch has an origin.

The story

Dhananjay didn’t set out to make ordinary clothes, and fifteen-plus years later, that hasn’t changed.

The studio began with a simple belief: occasion wear should feel like it was made for exactly one person, because it was. That belief turned into a body of work built on traditional Indian tailoring — sherwanis with real structure, bandhgalas that sit just right, kurtas that move the way they should — paired with an embroidery language that refuses to sit still. Where most studios repeat their signature motifs season after season, Dhananjay rebuilds the embroidery vocabulary from scratch every year. New themes, new references, new ways of putting thread to fabric.

The studio’s focus has always leaned toward menswear, a space that’s traditionally been short on personality and even shorter on options for someone who wants to stand out without shouting. Sherwanis, bandhgalas, and festive sets here carry detail most menswear doesn’t bother with. Alongside this, Dhananjay also designs for women who want that same precision and wit in their own occasion wardrobe.

The begining

From a label built on instinct to a studio that has dressed the country for its biggest occasions this is how Dhananjay grew, one stitch at a time.

2010 | A label is born

Dhananjay launched his eponymous label with a clear conviction that Indian occasion wear deserved more craft, more character, and a great deal more personality.

2014 | A space of his own

Four years in, Dhananjay opened his first standalone showroom in Delhi. A place where clients could see the work, feel the fabric, and sit with the process.

2020 | When the world paused, the studio moved

During a year that stopped most things in their tracks, Dhananjay did the opposite he moved to a larger space. A quieter city made room for a bigger studio, and the work continued uninterrupted.

2025 | Growing in place

The studio expanded again same building, more room. More space for the embroidery. More room for the ideas. Fifteen years in, Dhananjay is still in the same business he started: making clothes that make people feel like the best version of themselves.

Worn with pride

From wedding mandaps to red carpets, Dhananjay’s work has been chosen by some of the most recognised names in film, sport, and public life. A quiet testament to craft that speaks for itself.
